Racers for Health is to promote healthy wellbeing.
KSDPP promotes being physically active, having healthy eating habits and a positive attitude.
For the past twenty nine years, Racers for Health has touched on all these philosophies that KSDPP promotes.
Having the schools in Kahnawake practice and compete against each other and other schools from outside communities in a friendly competition promotes fair play, leadership and having a positive attitude. Weeks prior to the race, KSDPP teaches the students the importance of eating healthy and hydrating for preparing for a race.
Lastly, regular physical activity is “key” for people to live a healthy lifestyle. Understanding that not everyone can be a long distance runner, but, everyone can participate in a physical activity while having fun. Students can build confidence from this activity that allows them to try other sports or physical activities.
