Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines: A healthy 24 hours includes physical activity, sedentary behaviour, healthy eating and sleep.

Regular daily physical activity is very important. It helps to prevent and control type 2 diabetes.

Physical activity improves physical fitness, but also:
  • Mental health
  • Focus
  • Sleep
  • Energy
  • Confidence
  • Overall well-being

All types of movement count! What matters is to make moving an important part of your everyday life. This includes going for walks, housework, doing yard work, running errands, washing the car, walking up the stairs at work, etc.

Find out what to add to your everyday life.
Find what works for you and your family. Is it playing outside with your family,  using community programs,  online resources, or sneaking exercise bouts into your breaks?

Most importantly, make physical activity fun! Find activities that you enjoy and being more active will seem much easier. Buddying up with others too makes it easier to stay on track.

Advocacy
The webpage was created to provide tools and ideas for individuals to live a physically active lifestyle.
