Quebec Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (QC-NEIHR)

About the Québec NEIHR

Picture

We are Tahatikonhsontóntie’, Kanien'kehá for "the faces that are coming." Our network promotes Indigenous health research that focuses on the needs, visions and capacities of communities. Tahatikonhsontóntie' is proud to be hosted by the Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Program (KSDPP) in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawawàk:e.

The Qc-NEIHR is founded upon the KSDPP principles of community mobilization for health promotion, long-standing academic-community partnerships, and research practices. It is growing its network through relationship building to foster sharing, wise research practices, and Indigenous ways of knowing.

Mission

Objectives

The Qc-NEIHR – Tahatikonhsontóntie’ (the faces yet to come) is an Indigenous health research network in capacity enhancement, community mobilization and knowledge sharing in Quebec. Through co-creation and community collaboration, we aim to offer a space for communities, Elders, youth, researchers, and knowledge users to come together in health promotion and community-based participatory research.
