Dave Bergeron, RN, Ph.D.

Dave Bergeron is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). His research focuses on community-based health promotion and program evaluation in partnership with Indigenous communities in Canada, Colombia, and Peru. He is particularly interested in realist evaluation, arts-based research, knowledge translation, and the recognition of traditional knowledge.

Katsitsiio Splicer

Katsi’tsí:io, Onkwehonwe from Kahnawà:ke, is a research coordinator for youth-led, action-based research that explores how to engage youth in community. She is passionate about the journey of decolonization and re-indigenizing aspects of life, in particular her mind and way of living. She has a six-year-old daughter and a "dog-daughter", teaches yoga and is passionate about physical and wholistic health. Although she has a masters of health science in mental health and a masters of social work in the Indigenous field of study, she is learning there is more to life than Western education and understandings of “work” and has been on a journey to live sustainably. ​​

​Ines Sebai holds an applied bachelor's degree in nutrition from Tunisia. She completed a master's degree in nutrition at the Université de Montréal where she is currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Medicine. Her research focuses on the relationship between nutrition and health among First Nations in Canada.

Derek Wasyliw

Derek Wasyliw is a Ph.D. candidate in Kinesiology Sciences at McGill University and currently works within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. A KSDPP research team member since 2014, his research revolves around bridging Indigenous and Western research methods to co-construct relational and ethical programming through CBPR approaches. Passionate about holistic wellness, Derek collaborates with Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners to advance culturally grounded, land-based, and intergenerational mentorship programs in PHE.
