MOTION COMMOTION

Picture
KSDPP promotes being physically active, having healthy eating habits and a positive attitude.

In 2025, Motion Commotion replaces the former Racers for Health, an annual event that promoted healthy well-being since 1994, where students from Kahnawake schools practiced and competed with other schools from outside communities, in friendly competition to promote fair play, leadership and positive attitude. Since then, the Kahnawake Youth Center (KYC) has taken over the coordination of this popular and fun event, renaming it Motion Commotion, making it less competitive and more of an activity to get participants moving.

Regular physical activity is key to living a healthy lifestyle. Not everyone can be a long distance runner, but they can participate in a physical activity while having fun. Students can build confidence from this activity that can lead them to try other sports or physical activities. Motion Commotion is a great activity to promote being physically active, having healthy eating habits and a positive attitude.

Motion Commotion will be held in June 2025.
